Is your dog uncomfortable with car rides?

 

Mine gets really nervous in the car. But this summer, we really want to try to get him used to it.

We would like to be able to take him to parks and other outdoor places this summer.

I’ve been thinking about how we can make the car ride there a better experience.

Maybe if we bring along things that he really likes? Maybe a favorite bone to chew on, some treats,

a blanket to lay on.

Maybe we should just keep some things in the car and then maybe he would be excited about a ride?

Either way, I think the car ride has to be made special in some way.

 

Also, I’m thinking we should act really happy and excited about the ride.

I think we all know how our dogs are able to pick up on our feelings.

So it just makes sense that if they see you feel good about it, maybe they will feel better about it.

If you’re hesitant or nervous for them, they probably will be too.
