I recently completed a course, where I learned how to use essential oils with animals, becoming a certified animal aromatherapist. This course was taught by a veterinarian who uses essential oils in her practice. She was awesome and I learned so much from her. Oils can be safely used with most pets as long as they are used correctly and diluted appropriately. Dilutions are much different for animals than for people and there are some oils that should not be used at all on your pets.

Of course, a lot of times you actually need to take your pets to the vet. But maybe you’ve already done that and your pet is still experiencing some sort of discomfort. Or maybe it’s a minor issue and you would like to try oils first.

I’ve used oils with several of my pets. Oils have helped my bearded dragon when she needs some help with being able to go to the bathroom (can be a common issue with bearded dragons). I’ve also used oils with her when she had a little limp.

We have given our dog, Lucas, some of the doTERRA soft gels for a couple of issues, such as sleeping and joint health. He doesn’t really like the smell of the oils, so the soft gels are a great option for him.. One of our other dogs, Taylor didn’t mind them at all and we used to use several different oils with her.
